Metro Fruit and Veggie Coalition

The mission of the Metro Fruit and Veggie Coalition is to increase fruit and vegetable consumption in the Portland Metro area.  The Coalition forges working relationships with key Metro area government agencies, private sector and non-profit groups in order to leverage resources and mobileze professionals to promote and increase in daily consumption of fruits and vegetables.

The Coalition includes representatives from health departments, Weomen, Infants and Children Program, and Oregon State University Extension Service in Clakamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties.  the Coalition also includes representation from nutrition services from school districts and several hospital systems and health insurers.  Farmers markets are represented as well as non-profit and business organizations.

The Metro Furit and Veggie Coalition strives to promote their mission by coordinating and creating connections between Coalition members to support strategies outlined in A Healthy Active Oregon: Statewide Physical Activity and Nutrition Plan 2007-2012 and promote Fruits & Veggies–More Matters (TM).
