OPHI Welcomes Our New Executive Director, Emily Henke

Dear Friends of OPHI,

As we come together to fight COVID-19, we’d like to share an important leadership update with you: In February, we welcomed Emily Henke, MPH, as OPHI’s new Executive Director. Emily has worked with OPHI since 2014, most recently as Interim CEO in the second half of 2019. Emily’s background includes health system transformation, technical assistance, and cross-sector work aligning health and conservation strategies, goals, and investment to support healthy, green communities. We are very pleased that she is joining us in a permanent leadership role, and we look forward to working with her in building health and equity in Oregon.

Sincerely,

The OPHI Board of Directors

How can OPHI help?
A note from Emily

COVID-19 has profoundly and rapidly changed our lives and the public health landscape. We know you—our local health departments, tribal communities, healthcare organizations, state agencies, cities, community-based organizations, funders, and other partners—are working tirelessly in an extremely difficult time to support health and equity in Oregon. You are slowing the spread of this pandemic; treating the sick; and pushing for equity-focused response strategies. You are doing all of this in the midst of immense disruption in your organizations and personal lives. We are deeply grateful to you, and we want to help.
Acts of cooperation and solidarity—big and small—will be what gets us through this challenging time. What help do you need? Please drop me a line at info@ophi.org and let us know the challenges, barriers, and gaps you’re facing as you respond to COVID-19 and/or carry out your everyday work during this chaotic time. We can brainstorm with you, share our networks, and help match needs with resources. Let’s figure this out together.

Catch you on Zoom, friends. Take care of yourselves.

Emily
