In May, 2020, the Public Health Institute (PHI) in partnership with OPHI, was contracted by Washington County, Oregon and Clark County, Washington to conduct the COVID-19 contact tracing, monitoring, and support needed for the counties to meet states’ reopening guidelines. Tracing Health, our contact tracing program, is active in multiple counties in the Pacific Northwest including Washington County in Oregon and Clark County and Spokane County in Washington.
COVID-19, and the economic impact of responding to COVID-19, has hit some communities harder than others. Communities of color, particularly Latinx and Black communities, have been disproportionately impacted. Our approach to contact tracing is in line with a vision for more equitable recovery where communities impacted help shape the response. Tracing Health is committed to learning and improving as we go, and we are always open to questions and guidance from our community partners.
