Health care costs for employers continue to soar, driven largely by ongoing, preventable health conditions, like heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and cancer. Employers can take action to reverse this impact on their employee's lives and on their bottom line by creating a culture of wellness at work.
Health focused worksite programs can:
- Contain health care costs
- Decrease absenteeism
- Improve employee morale
- Contain or decrease workers’ compensation claims
- Attract and retain healthy employees
Wellness@Work is a was launched in 2011 to create a culture of wellness for Oregonians in worksites of all types and sizes, with a focus at OPHI of providing technical assistance to small employers who want to build healthy, active, and tobacco-free environments at their worksites.
