As cities in Oregon change and grow, OPHI promotes a sustainable and equitable scope for new development and planning strategies and policies that allow for  the voices of communities to be heard. OPHI has taken a lead role in connecting public health and community stakeholders with new partners in urban planning, community redevelopment, food systems, transportation, housing, tobacco control and other disciplines. Our work has helped implement policy changes and physical improvements that create healthier neighborhoods in Portland and throughout the state.Through developing in a transit oriented manner, to community mapping to be used for advocacy, OPHI reveals this equity foundation through advocacy, research, and the convening of local partners.
