OPHI’s RFTS (Right from the Start) and Multnomah County Health Department’s REACH (Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health) programs have developed a Nutrition Activity Plan. This plan is meant to be implemented by child care providers in order to encourage healthy eating habits among the children in their care.

This toolkit includes a variety of culturally-, racially- and ethnically-specific activities to encourage healthy eating in children. For each food category, the toolkit provides a literacy activity, recommended books, hands-on creative activities, picture flash cards, and recipes.

The toolkit is available for use by child care providers at no-cost, but please contact pattie@ophi.org to let us know how you plan to use it.
